SML pipes are made of cast iron with lamellar graphite, using the De Lavaux centrifugal casting method. This technology is unique and is a special method of cast iron casting, which provides the material with improved mechanical properties, in particular increased tensile and compressive strength. At the same time, the products can be easily cut due to the low Brinell hardness number of pipes cast using this method.

The advantages of the products include the fact that cast iron SML pipes for sewerage are characterized by a low coefficient of thermal linear expansion, which is only 0.0105 mm/m °C, which facilitates the concreting process. The coefficient of thermal linear expansion of pipes is almost the same as that of concrete.

The protective characteristics of the pipes are provided by the special properties of the external coating of acrylic primer (40 μm thick). Thus, the entire system has a high degree of protection from environmental influences.

From the inside, the cast iron SML pipe is coated with an epoxy polymer composition (at least 120 μm thick). This coating ensures minimal deposit formation on the internal walls of the parts and, as a result, minimal narrowing of the pipeline diameter, which maintains a high throughput of the entire system. All SML sewer pipes and fittings equally well resist corrosion of internal walls, as well as mechanical damage, thanks to the epoxy internal coating.
